KSTF to Build New 500’ Tower Enhancing Nebraska Panhandle Presence

Scottsbluff, Nebraska-September 3, 2014... KSTF-TV, the CBS affiliate serving the Scottsbluff-Gering, Nebraska television viewing area today announced plans to build a new 500’ tower north of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Construction of the new tower is scheduled to begin mid-September 2014.

During construction of the new tower, the over-the-air signal will be off the air for a period of four to six weeks affecting viewers who watch KSTF using an antenna and Charter Cable basic tier customers who watch KSTF on channel 6 and 10. CBS programming and Scottsbluff-Gering weather reports and emergency alerts will be available via sister station KGWN, Cheyenne, Wyoming through these cable/satellite providers:

Charter Cable digital channel 785
Dish Network channel 5
Allo Communications channel 5 and digital channel 305.

“To build a new tower is a huge undertaking and to affect our viewers for an extended period of time isn’t taken lightly. However, we believe it’s necessary to improve our signal and position our station to better serve the viewers of the Scottsbluff-Gering area in the near future.” said Tregg White, Vice President and General Manager of KSTF/KGWN. White added, “The construction of a new tower is part of our commitment to serving the Nebraska Panhandle with hyper-local weather forecasts and news.”
