Huntington / Charleston, WV – WSAZ’s popular ten o’clock news will be moving to a new home on The Tri-State’s CW channel, WQCW, on Monday, March 31st.

WQCW is owned by Lockwood Broadcast Group. WSAZ currently programs WQCW pursuant to a local management agreement. WSAZ anticipates acquiring WQCW on April 1, 2014.

The newscast will also be expanding to one hour and will feature WSAZ anchors Bill Murray, Brittany Hoke, and meteorologist Kelly Ann Cicalese, along with all of WSAZ’s reporters.

The newscast currently airs on myZ TV, which is unavailable on satellite. “Our 10 o’clock news has had great response,” explained Matt Jaquint, WSAZ general manager. “Now, everyone will be able to see it. It’s a WSAZ newscast covering the entire region, and it’s available everywhere.”

The advantages of a 10 o’clock newscast are obvious, according to news director Dan Fabrizio. “Many viewers want the option of watching a WSAZ evening newscast an hour earlier.” Expanding to an hour is also a plus, said Fabrizio. “It allows us to go into even greater depth on the important stories of the night.”

“WSAZ Ten O’clock News” can be seen seven nights a week. The Tri-State’s CW is located over the air and on satellite on channel 30. Cable channels vary depending on the cable system.
