Gray station KOLN in Lincoln hosts supply drive for flood relief; fills over two semis
Historic flooding devastated parts of Nebraska in early March. 1011 Cares (KOLN) partnered with the American Red Cross and Hy-Vee for a flood relief drive at the 10/11 studios on March 13 and 14. Viewers opened their hearts and wallets for the 10/11 Nebraska Strong: Stuff the Semis event. 10/11 stuffed over 2 semis full of everything from gloves and shovels to bleach and wipes. Plus, raised over $27,000. All items donated, including the money were given to the Red Cross Flood donation fund for Nebraska.
"We tell stories that connect us and provide a pathway to help those in need all across Nebraska," said General Manager, Shannon Booth. "From lifesaving storm coverage to fundraising hundreds of thousands of dollars for relief and recovery, we come together for a stronger Nebraska."
