WAGM receives awards from MAB
During the 2018 MAB awards convention WAGM won in both news and creative services categories.
WAGM received two awards in the following categories:
NEWS: Public Affairs, TV
Second place: WAGM ~ Heating Homes with Helping Hands Telethon coverage/stories~ Ashley Blackford Reporter, and Katie Zarrilli Reporter. After hearing about a funding gap that would have affected many of our residents WAGM contacted the United Way to see how we could help bridge the gap to insure that all those needing heating assistance for the winter months had funding to do so. WAGM partnered with the United Way and ACAP to host a telethon to help raise the funds necessary. Generous community members donated over $43,000 in one day. WAGM, United Way and ACAP are partnering again in 2018, to host the Heating Homes with Helping Hands Telethon.
Creative Services: Public Service, Sponsored, TV
First place: WAGM ~ Think Before You Drink ~ Mike Mathes. Think Before you drink is a sponsored PSA campaign that WAGM partnered with a local sponsor to bring awareness to the many ways someone can become impaired and how little they need to consume to be considered impaired.
