WTVY-TV Hundreds of people came out to Foster Street December 31, 2016 to celebrate the New Year with Dothan's first ever Downtown Countdown.

The night was filled with music and fun as people walked the streets and wandered to and fro between the open bars and restaurants.

As the clock struck midnight, a ten-foot-tall peanut was lowered 40 feet.

The night ended with a spectacular fireworks show.
