WSAZ Launches "First Look at 4:00"

Category: Station News

Huntington / Charleston, WV – WSAZ NewsChannel 3 will be adding another local newscast to its lineup on Monday, September 9th, when "First Look at 4:00" makes its debut at 4:00 PM. The hour-long newscast will feature WSAZ anchors Bill Murray, Brittany Hoke, and meteorologist Kelly Ann Cicalese, along with all of WSAZ’s reporters.

“WSAZ is deeply committed to keeping our viewers informed,” said Matt Jaquint, WSAZ general manager. “This is another example of how seriously we take that responsibility.”

There were many reasons WSAZ decided to add a four o'clock newscast, according to news director Dan Fabrizio. “We want to provide viewers with an opportunity to get an early look at the evening's big stories, as well as spend more time with them on topics that truly impact their daily lives. It also allows us to go into even greater depth on the important stories of the night.”

Tim Irr, Amanda Barren, and chief meteorologist Tony Cavalier will now anchor "First at 5:00", followed by "5:30 Edition" and "NewsChannel 3 Six O'Clock". WSAZ's afternoon lineup will also change on Monday along with the debut of "First Look at 4:00". "The Doctors", an award-winning health and wellness show, will launch it's new season at 2:00 PM, followed by Dr. OZ, which moves into the 3:00 PM time slot.

WSAZ is owned by Gray Television, Inc. and serves viewers in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky with Severe Weather and Breaking News coverage. More people receive their news and weather from WSAZ NewsChannel 3, WQCW-TV, myZtv, WSAZ.com, WSAZ Mobile and WSAZ Momseveryday.com than all other local stations combined.
